I saw an issue of Derf's comic The City (which I usually hate) where he related the story of being picked up by Mr. Rogers while hitchhiking. I forget the exact dialogue, but Derf must've been at least 20 and Rogers talked to him exactly like he had stepped into a scene on his show... so he is indeed like that at all times, Johnny.... and yes, that does make him even stranger.

I saw some previews of the Wonka film on HBO; don't think I really want to see it. I will hang in with Pirates... for at least one of the sequels (assuming the previews aren't astoundingly bad) cuz the first one was pretty great. I virtually never go to sequels, but I'll make an exception for Pirates 2.

I know some folks who worked on the first Pirates and are in the Bahamas for basically a year doing the sequels and they are unanimous in their praise and love for Mr. Depp. He is apparently one of those (very) rare stars who in his "real life" is almost EXACTLY how he appears to be in his press. Nice interview, DRE.

I agree. Thats what I have always liked the most about him. To have that combined with such talent is a rare thing.

It's too bad more celebrities aren't like him.
