Those pesky French have been casting aside the standard protocols for cow towing to celebrities by refusing to allow Oprah Winfrey, $ multi squillionaire TV personality and beef farmers friend, into their stores.

Imagine a store that is closed not opening up just because Ms Winfrey wants to do some shoppy-poos unsullied by the usual Hermes riff raff.

I bet she just wanted something for the bag and it's probably not like Tina Turner won't already have enough scarves.

I should maybe point out, for legal reasons, that the 'bag' in question is a Hermes bag and I was in no way trying to infer that either Ms Winfrey or Ms Turner were bags.
