um, sort of. it wasn't much of a fight. some guy grabbed my boob at a club, and I turned around and shoved him and told him to leave me alone. instead of doing so, he grabbed my wrists, at which point I pulled one free and socked him in the face, sending him stumbling backwards across the room, and onto the ground. he didn't bother me after that.

The last fight I was in was kind of a group effort. Some friends and I were at 'Red Square', a punk club in Tijuana. We're half wasted and I noticed some skins on the other side of the bar. They had red laces in their boots and my friends and I were debating what the color actually meant. Where I come from, alot of SHARPS wore red. So, I figgered I'd ask them... Smart.

So, I ask what the red laces indicate and the answer is..... "White Pride". Okay then... I walk away saying, "Pssh, thanks. Hey Guys! They're White Pride fags!"

That's when I felt a tremendous amount of weight on my back... Four pissed off skins weigh quite a bit.

So, brawl ensues, my friends and I come out on top but not without our share of pain. The bouncers kick us all out, but give us a 30 second head start so we can clear out and take off. Instead, we round the corner and wait. Half a minute later, zaniness ensues a second time. We thrash them pretty good because, even with us outnumbered 5 to 7, the element of suprise was with us. That's when we heard sirens and beat feet.

So, to answer your questions:

Why? Because rascists are a disease on this Earth. Oh, and because I have a big mouth.
Who? Me, then them, then us. Make sense??
Avoid it? Nope, met them head on.
In the right? I'd like to think so, but its open to interpretation.
Scared? What, with 2 40's of Tecate in my belly? Fuck no!
Did we win? I'd say yes.

I was in a fight when I was in elementary school...I don't quite remember anything about it though. Haven't been in any since then.

It sounds stupid but I wish I was in more fights. I'm always ready to throw down, unfortunately it makes me talk like a douche bag.

Once, in fifth grade. It was stupid, and it's now embarrassing. It was with one of my best friends. He threw a basketball and it hit me in the face. He didn't mean to hit me. I must have been in a shitty mood or something because I pushed him and we started fighting. So I guess that makes me the asshole. I wasn't scared, but I guess I was slightly nervous after it started. His mom saw us and broke it up before anyone could "win." He probably landed more punches, but I landed the more devastating punches (He went for body shots; I went for the face blackeyed.

Nope.
I gave this one fucker in high school a punch in the shoulder, because I was tired of his shit, and he picked the wrong day to fuck with me. He deserved it. He didn't hit me back. Other than that, no.

Way more than I should have been, and only one of them started by me.

The last fight happened after a drunken ass tried to start a fight with my friend over a cigarette, and then ended up shoving/punching my wife - and, as you might expect, that's something that didn't sit well with me.

Thinking about that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I really don't like hurting people. I do like fighting though - if everyone was made of rubber, and everyone just fought for the hell of it, I'd do it all the time. It's the hurting other folks that's no good.

well one of my football teammates in highschool decided that he could pick on me and improve his social standing, he figured that being 2" in taller and 50 pounds heavier than me gave him enough of an advantage...his first mistake.

so for two weeks straight he kept on being very beligerent, calling me all kidns of colorfull names, and if i remeber correctly threatning to rip my head off....his second mistake.

soon enough i got tired of this bs, and decided i would do somethign about it, the night before i took a nice hot bath, relaxed and got myself prepared for the next morning. When i got up the next day i picked out the shittiest clothing i could find and went off to school, i passed him twice in the hallway, still half hoping to avoid the fight, but he was quite unrelenting, so by the third encounter, i pushed the guy into the locker, he grabbed me and we rolled into my english classroom, we told me to hit him...his last mistake

to make the story short, the fight ended rather quickly with my coach rushing in and ripping me off the kid, though i did manage to squeeze in a few punches before the bitch went down, and hee ened up with a broken eye socket, and a mild concussion.

so the final tally went up like this, he become a even bigger laughin stock of the school, his girlfriend left him, he had a rainbow collored eye for about 3 months and nobody in my school bothered me aggain.

id like to say, that i didnt enjoy it, and that fighting is stupid, but than i would be lying wink

I've been in a fight. Or two. Mostly they've been started by assholes, though I've thrown the first punch on more than one ocassion. Being tall, thin, and nerdy seems to encourage people to want to mess with you, because they think they can, and that it'll prove something since you're taller than them.

But I've mostly tried to avoid fights. Sometimes I was scared, as when there were 20 of them and one of me. I've taken my share of beatings. And less frequently dished them out.

That's all in the past now, luckily. Stupid junior high shit. "Cool" kids trying to establish themselves by beating the outcast type of stuff.

But by HS I had the reputation of being somewhat crazy, so it wasn't so bad. I haven't been in a single fight since 9th grade.

Having that reputation made life so much easier.
I rarely got into fights but when I did I believed in winning, so I'd put everything into a single punch to the head. Nobody had any skill, so major telegraphing didn't matter. The guy goes down. I walk away and everybody thinks I'm a great fighter so nobody bothers me or my friends ever again.

Of course if the guy got back up I had nothing and could have been easily beaten to a pulp, but they didn't know that.

very interesting....I expected some "yeah, I have a big mouth and routinely get shit kicked"

This wasn't a way for me to enable me to relate my story...but I was thinking about Junior high...up til now....and what I would do if my kid (who doesn't exist yet) got bullied....is fighting the right answer??

When I was 15 I got jumped by 3 guys cause I was the wimpy fat kid....my dad grew up a scrapper...people used to come from Vancouver to Victoria just to fight my dad and his 2 brothers. back in the '60's...anyways....
after this beating I got, my dad made me a 12inch wooden bat, with a leather wrist strap...I went to school the next day and proceeded to beat 1 guy unconcious, broke the others nose and #3 ran away.
Ever since then I have discovered the gym and have been in dozen's of fights....8 yrs as a bouncer...
but I honestly have never started one (I HAVE thrown the first punch, but tha was after coming to the realization I wasn't gonna get to walk away), been drunk, have always tried to avoid it (look man..just say good-nite and sleep it off), and have never lost....honest
until 4 years ago when 5 of us bouncers got jumped by 12 guys and I once again got beat up by 3 of 'em....heh
It seems size/ height doesn't matter, cause I am only 5'10, but I am 250lbs, and guys use me as a challange it seems, unlike some of you who have said, it started cause you looked like an easy target

the end...

So how many people here have actually...truely been in a REAL physical fist-type fight??

Yes, two in particular stand out...

Why?
1. A kid at school had been ragging on me all morning.
2. A group of kids tried to mug my best friend (who I used to study martial arts with) and I for drug money.

Who started it?
1. I did. I went up to the kid and said that I'd had enough of his bullshit.
2. They did.

Did you try to avoid it?
1. No. I encouraged it.
2. It was unavoidable.

Where you in the right, or being an asshole?
1. I was in the right, because he'd been ragging on me, so he had to learn to shut up when I first told him to, but I was also being an asshole, because I knew I could use my martial arts training to kick the shit out of him with no resistance.
2. We were in the right because we were defending ourselves.

Were you scared?
1. No. I'm ashamed to admit that I enjoyed it, and that was when I realized I had to learn to control my temper.
2. Not really. I knew that we could both handle ourselves, but it was an unpleasant situation.

and a true test to honesty...did you win? (and don't give the bullshit, "noone wins a fight"...the loser always says that
1. Yes. The kid wound up in hospital with a concussion and a fractured jaw. I got suspended for it.
2. Yes. Once the punks realized we could handle ourselves, they ran off.

EDITED - AFTER READING SOME RESPONSES--- any when you weren't drunk?
I've never gotten in a fight while drunk. The closest would be when I brandished an African tribal mask at someone and yelled at them to fuck off, but that was all...

I used to fight guys in my school a lot when I was a kid. I never lost. I just didn't take it if someone said something stupid to me, so I'd kick their ass. I can cry on command so I always got out of getting suspended, etc.

Never gotten in a fight with a girl, though.

On my last day of school. I would be about 17. We'd been down the pub to celebrate. This kid was annoying me, and had been for the past year. I told him to either shut up or I'd floor him. As I was leaving, he stood up, said something, so I punched him in the face and walked off. Turns out I broke his nose in two places, I felt like an arsehole afterwards.

Okay, one time this French girl was introduced to me in maybe fourth grade or whenever it was that she showed up. The people who were introducing her to everyone say, "Julie, this is Ted. Ted, this is Julie." Julie grabs my collar. Everyone is confused. She marches me over a certain number of feet, and I'm walking along wondering what the hell this crazy chick is up to. I don't remember what she did or anything, but out of nowhere I got slammed to the ground, hard. I mean, I didn't even have time to react. One second I'm just confused, marching along obediently and the next I'm getting up, dizzy from a hit on the head for the first time in my life and even more confused than I was before. The people with her grab her, say, "Uh...sorry. She's French" and go off with her. I don't think I really did anything about it.

What's funny is that she turned out to be, as I recall, fairly nice. She later, when asked to describe the difference between French and American schools, said something about how boys and girls in France fought a lot.

Why?

-some guys were not very gently and threw some bottles...

Who started it?

-i don't really know...

Did you try to avoid it?

-no

Where you in the right, or being an asshole?

-i think both... it's nearly 20 years ago... i think it was in the interest of both sides

Were you scared?

-no, cause i was too dumb and too drunk

and a true test to honesty...did you win?

-bullshit, one of their guys was hardly injured and had to visit a hospital for a lot of weeks, because one of my dudes kicked his head...

any when you weren't drunk?

-surely not! maybe in my childhood.

------------------------------

a few years ago a guy tried to. but i told him that i'll surely tell this to the police. quiet easy. no big deal. of course, he didn't hit me.

no scumbag on this whole world has the right to touch me.
i do not support ppl which are bad educated and can't handle their own moods and agressions.

crap. I've been in more than a few.

I got into a fight with this asshole boy who was like my same height....he had told a shitload of people that he fucked me....I wasn't particularly down with that bullshit. I confronted him about it and he shoved me...so I got up and punched him in the head. then we had a total all out and he pretty much kicked my ass..

THEN he had the nerve to tell a bunch of whory girls that I sucker punched him (even though the imprint of my rings were in the middle of his fat forehead) and I got into a fight with them. I kicked the ass of one of them and then the other two trucked off.

oh! and once, in private school...this boy was on the stairs behind me and he flipped up my skirt and called me a cunt.

so I turned around and punched him in the face. broke his nose.
