How do you make it, how do you drink it?

Do you have a favourite coffee shop? How much would a coffee cost, and how much would you tip?

I drink instant "Fairtrade" decaf at home, usually. This is because I'm lazy. If I drink real coffee I use a caffetiere ('French press'?) and fair trade medium roast.

There's a chain called Costa over here. I buy a medium decaf americano which costs £1.95 (What's that, about $3.50 USD?) and I tip about 40pence. I read the economist and drink my coffee and try to ignore the screaming children.

Kind of a sore point. I was a bit of a coffee snob, grinding my own beans and all. Then my kids got me one of those pod coffee makers for Christmas. Despite the fact that the coffee is not quite as good and the cost per cup goes through the roof with pods, I am pretty much bound to use it.

I drink it black with no sweetners. I've head that called policeman's coffee. I might try a hzelnut, if I am feeling frisky.

When I lived in Solihull, we had a Costa. It was much better than the Starbucks on the other end of the High Street. I always found that I had to drop a little ice or water into the cup to dilute it a bit. Yeah, Americans like a watery brew.

Oh, and the Economist rocks. Finest English langauge news magazine.

Having worked in a coffee shop through college, I "walked the line" from lattes to americanos to straight black drip to straight shots.

When making coffee, I prefer the french press with a darker roast from a local roaster. If I wanted to go all out, I'd employ one of these guys:

Sadly, there is a lacking of independent coffee houses in my particular city, though there is one that's more than half-way decent. A 12 oz. cup of coffee costs $1.25... though I tip .75 cents.

I will drink anything....cream and sugar/ splenda.....but I like flavored coffee's too...Irish cream, French Vanilla, Hazelnut

but there is nothing better than waking up early on a Sunday morning, walking thru downtown (where I USED to live) and getting a nice medium roast and a pastry and sitting outside at a table on the sidewalk, reading a paper, talking to people and sipping my coffee while there is still dew in the air....that was almost poetic

How do I make it?

I now make it in the most beautiful gift I have received in a long time

Look, it's RED! It will match the paint color of my kitchen. Its so pretty!! and tthat little display in the center GLOWS IN THE DARK.

How do I take it? IN MY TUMMY!!!!!

My favourite shop is this little place called Bouldin Creek Coffee down in my old neighborhood. It's my second home. They have good food, good coffee, wireless, cute boys working there AND a tom waits shrine on the wall. Regular cup of coffee is $1.25. I normally tip the left over 75 cents.

When I drink at home, I drink whatever fairtrade organic was on sale that week at my local natural grocery.
