I tried to buy some carbolic or coal tar soap today. I didn't try that hard, but the two shops I went to didn't sell it. Not only that, they had hardly any solid bar soap at all. They did have a lot of liquid soaps / shower gels / bath foams / etc.

What is your favourite type of soap, and how much does it cost, and where do you buy it from? Also, if you're a fella, do the laydies like it?

My favourite soap ever is "Lava" which is australian. I think there's a US version, it's full of pumice.

I like Dr. Bronner's soap. There's all sorts of crazy writing on the bottle, but it sure smells good. smile

I thought coal tar soap was carcinogenic confused You might want to see if you can get Grandpa's Pine Tar soap, which is inexpensive ($3 for a bar that lasts months?).. It was better than any shampoo when I had really curly hair that was on the dry side.. I got it at a health food type store (Whole Foods, specifically, though I don't know any UK equivalents)

I'd constantly lose the bar underneath the partition between the shower stalls in my dorm bathroom and have to ask the guy next to me multiple times to toss it over. I use liquid now.

I used to watch that. That was back when comedy didn't have to be that funny.

I use Dial liquid antibacterial soap/bodywash for EVERYTHING. After getting a staph infection from regular bar soap, I'm never switching back.

I'm a skinflint though and I want to spend as little as possible on soap yet still smell fragrant.

I'm not particular. If it's for sensitive skin, doesn't smell bad, and doesn't give me a rash I'm ok. No brand loyalty.

Per the suggestion of many loyal makeupalley.com users I began washing my face with Johnson's Head To Toe Baby Wash some time ago. In the interest of simplicity I now follow the label and use it head to toe. It removes makeup and cleans other parts without making me feel dry and has no strong fragrance, so it doesn't interfere if I feel like wearing perfume.

Zest, bar, original scent.

Everything else makes me feel like i'm covered in a thin layer of soap whenever I get out of the shower.
