Let’s see if you can follow the logic.

The über-conservative Family Research Institute conducted a study to examine the morbidity rates of homosexuals. Of course, the study showed that homosexuality will cut 20 years off your life in addition to a life of every conceivable sexually transmitted disease. Therefore, because homosexuals engender a danger to society and human health, the Executive Direct of the New York Chapter of Christian Coalition has implied that gay and lesbian people should wear special warning labels.

Logic? We’re not buying any here.

You know the nazis had pieces of flair, that they made the Jews wear.

How does anybody take these people seriously?

The most common forms of the badge were:

Black inverted triangle
A vagrant
A Roma or Sinti
A woman jailed for "anti-social behavior", i.e., a lesbian, a prostitute or woman who used birth control.
Green inverted triangle — a regular criminal.
Pink inverted triangle — a homosexual.
Purple inverted triangle — a Jehovah's Witness.
Red inverted triangle — a political prisoner. The color red was probably chosen because it represented the communists, the political enemies that the Nazis hated most (and the first to be officially outlawed).
Double triangles:

Two superimposed yellow triangles forming the Star of David — a Jew, including Jews by practice or descent.
Pink inverted triangle superimposed upon a yellow one, making the Star of David — a homosexual Jew.

Isn't it weird that so few anti-gay types never (or at least, rarely) mention bisexual people when ranting about gay people?

That's because, I think, the average guy that hates gay folks thinks a woman who fucks another woman is hot, as long as she fucks men too.

I've known no end of guys who hate "fags and dykes" who'll happily beat off to bi chick porn, and who fantasize about getting another woman into bed with them and their SO.

And the same guys will say any man that fucks another man is straight up homo, no matter how many women he sleeps with, so bi guy does not compute.


And the whole badge idea is stupid, and repugnant, but people are forgetful, and prone to rationalization. This means half the people who think this is a good idea won't even see the parallels to Nazi practices, and the other half will rationalize it as "something completely different, and not at all like what the nazis did."

I also heard of a study within the last month or so that says cities with more gays and rock stars tend to be more progressive in other areas, as well as more likely to have constantly-improving economies. People sure love to study those gays right now.

In this day and age, not only would something like that never get anywhere near legislation because it really is downright crazy, it's also damn-near Totally Unconstitutional(C). This is one of those things that, in order to prosecute, there would have to be mass invasions of privacy... it's kind of like the birth control thing that went to the Supreme Court (I forget the name of the case, Griswold vs. somebody, Connecticut maybe). It hits several levels of "against the law" to even start a case against someone for "not wearing their gay badge."

Plus, I think that a lot of people would put on fake armbands or badges and wear them around, just to fuck with people and protest it all. I'd do it, being a progressive-minded straight guy who would leave the country that month if something like this got near legislation.

Another thought:
Does this mean we get to tattoo "Don't marry me, good chance I'll be one of the 1,700" on soldiers now?

Or on any member of a country we don't like?

Stupid fundies, they're going to make us look like such IDIOTS in history books like a couple hundred years from now.

I'm surprised they're even willing to admit that one can mistake a homosexual for a "normal" person. My Dad certainly seems to think his gaydar is operating at 100% accuracy.
