alchohol is a drug, last time I drank it - yeah, Im not sure what youre saying exactly mr golmember - but you sound cool, like sean paul - - if you left her, you have good reasons - it takes time to break up - everything takes time - do some drugs - eventually you wont want to call her - - call someone else instead....

The problem with drugs is it makes you face whatever you haven't worked through. If you're trying to get over her, don't take the drugs. Works better that way, less chance of scarring.

Understood ya fine. smile

I stopped taking drugs, because instead of making me feel good, they just made my shitiness even worse. Well, not all drugs. But the ones that made me happy scared the shit out of me. I'm not used to that.

Oh, and to sort of answer your question, No. Most drugs just magnify what you're already feeling. Post break up, that's probably not a good idea.

I took drugs / drank so that I could set my mind up to vomit out the best poetry and drawings that conveyed my exact feelings, whether it be bliss or turmoil. I would say that breakups generated some of the best stuff that I've ever written.

i don't know, a lot of people use drugs for the opposite reason...to escape. depends on the drug i guess. weed always makes me think about things way too much, but it isn't necessarily a good thing because it makes my thoughts kind of erratic too. hallucinagens, ecstasy, coke...i see all of those as ways to escape.

Mmmm yeah, I've found post break up drugs to be kind of a bad idea. The sting of the break up will need to be felt at some point, whether you take it head on or when you eventuall come down. It sucks to take it head on, but I feel like there is a lot of growth tied with that pain, and eventually you get over it.

I would not take drugs, but my alcohol consumption post break-up spikes like a motherfucker. You do it because it occupies brain cells.

And of course when I say "occupies" I mean, "kills."

The problem with taking drugs to escape your emotional pain is, the pain still there when the drugs are not.

sounds to me like you needed a taste of youth and freedom. spending three years with a girl is something that you started to freak out about. you needed to feel pretty and wanted and cool again, so you broke it off because it was easier than telling her that you cheated on her. the drugs, although they seem like part of the shit you've been missing out on are really just a means to forget you were such an asshole. but... i mean... it's different for everyone... and i may be projecting a bit. whatever

also, i cannot spell.

for me it started because i wasn't really allowed to even drink the last 3 years of my marriage, so i went out and drank alot when i left. now i do it for the same reason lots of people do- to fill the lonely spaces.

Why we take drugs.. well... It could be out of boredom, wanting to do something different, experience something when you are out. That's how it usually can start experimenting. But then that experimenting can turn into a habit. Usually these habits come when you are going through rough times and feeling depressed, you take the drugs to make you feel good, but almost everyone has a come-down... that's how addiction starts, you never want to feel the down, so you keep doing more, and your body needs it.

Drusg can be fun, but you will be alot happier not doing them, your body doesn't hurt and when that come-down comes you feel like the pain started all over again.
