Yeah, I read the original comic books-and was quite pleased with the first Crow movie, and disappointed with the rest.

I had heard, that James O'Barr wrote and illustrated the comic based on events that inspired it in his own life. From what I understand, his girlfriend/fiance/wife(i'm not sure which) was killed accidentally by the mafia.

Though I'm not sure if it's true, it made the first movie more 'heartfelt'

try watching the featurette documentary on the crow dvd.. that should clear it up somewhat. it tells you the whole story of how the crow came to be made with an indepth interview with James O'Barr

I absolutely loved the first movie. I've seen it often enough that I can quote it line for line. Brandon Lee brought a lot of emotion and feeling into the part. I didn't mind the second one too much. I thought it was kinda cool to see what happened to Sara as a result of Eric's return in the original. I wasn't impressed by the third one at all. The only redeeming aspect for me was adding another form of body modification. I'll buy the fourth one only to complete my collection, but I don't expect much from it.

As for the TV series, I kinda liked it. I felt like they were overdoing it a bit, bringing Eric back for it. It had some interesting episodes though.

I EXACTLLY the same way with the first. that's is one of the tings I liked about the second one also. Plus I just liked the setting. Vincent Perez did a really good job as did Iggy Pop.

I never really caught much of the series. i thought about trying to rent the movie they made of it just for the hell of it..
