Having extra marital sexual relations with each other?

I've found that kids don't learn behavior on their own.

I'd heard about this years ago during high school, but it was more in the category of "guess what new weird psuedorebellious trend is coming up!", along with "guess what everyone in CALI is doing!!?!"... it wasn't until I got to college that I actually heard about it happening around here.

Have you noticed how all the responses here have been something like,"wow, I never knew the cool kids did stuff like that!" or "I've heard about it (from Oprah, the Discovery Channel, etc.) but never seen it." Methinks the reason nobody has seen it is because it's bullshit.
Sounds an awful lot like jelly bracelets or beer labels, or old-style pull tabs.
None of it was ever true.

So nobody has to feel like they weren't cool in high school necause they didn't get invited to one of these parties. Apparently no one has been cool enough for that.

i teach high school, and have been amazed at the amount of sexual references/sexual talkgoes on. it is unbelievable, and obviously i am not a prude. my students enlightened me on the meaning of the jelly bracelets, and i have overheard rainbow party talk. I really doubt anything is actually happening, its just cool to say it is, especially amoung some of the girls.

Every time I hear about this kind of stuff, I think two things. One: these kids are probably fucked up sexually. Two: why did I have to grow up in such a stable neighborhood?

I can see why a teenage guy might participate in this, but not a teenage girl. If this is happening, what do the girls (supposedly) get out of it? What's their incentive that this becomes appealing for them?

Is it me, or doesn't this seem like it would kinda be a sucky party?

I mean think about it. From a girl's point of view, she's not really getting much other than bragging rights (I'm guessing here). Unless it goes both ways.

From a guy's point of view, back when I was an insecure male, I woulnd't want to be sporting a boner in front of the other guys, and I'm guessing most other guys wouldn't either. I mean there are reasons it's so hard to find male talent in the porn world, only a few guys can even manage to get it up with other people watching.

That sure beats what I did in high school.
Hung around with a bunch of other dorks talking about and watching star trek, and masturbating a lot.

naomi wolf has a lot to say about teenage girls performing sexual acts for the edification of men rather than in search of sexual pleasure for themselves... it's sort of about the rituals of becoming women, in short that boys get jobs or smoke pot or drive cars, but the signifiers of womanhood, the way they perceive it, is more about sexual desireability, compliance, and talent... not really sexual capability as far as their own arousal is concerned. and the driving or drugs or jobs don't represent the crossing into adulthood for young girls the same way lipstick and bras and blowjobs do. if only we could divert it into concern for their own safety and pleasure... but then you're a (perceived) slut, so that doesn't work... god am i glad i'm not a teenager anymore.

I here you there, I was to high to realize what was going on. But then again it was fun at the same time. I love the past.

I've read some Naomi Wolf. I can't say that I agree with all of it, but this sounds depressingly plausible. It would be ideal if these girls' interests and efforts were safe and not directed solely to the puerile gratification of others.

If I waited for someone to sexually gratify me before I gave up my virginity as a teen, well, let's just say I wouldn't have nearly the practice I do now.
