Fetched a Christmas tree today. 7 ft Doug Fir.

What's your tradition or context around winter solstice greenery?

*grin*

I told people that we'd put up a tree this year and they thought I was joking.

I love trees, they smell so good! And I like the lights, and the sparkly stuff, and sometimes there will be a garland.

I'm tired. Winter formal was tonight. You know what I mean. Are you surprised I'm typing?

I've learned to expect the unexpected from juggling math crazed girls who like other people to see them naked.

Upsetting expectations, the willful suspension of disbelief.

You never let me down, Al.

If you haven't fetched yours yet, there's a lot at the corner of 92d and Holgate with reasonable prices and nice folks.

*grins* you always know what I mean.

But by "we'd" I meant "we had". Thanks, though.

I had a Christmas plant one year. Its leaves were fir shaped, but it was only about 12" high. Cheap to decorate.

I've only got a plastic plantpot filled with dirt and roots. Not very festive, I'm afraid.

CR,

Just curious, what's a 6 ft Christmas tree go for in your part of the UK? We grow 'em here in Oregon, so they're cheap. Are there Christmas tree farms over there? Or do they ship 'em in from Norway?

I think we ship in from Norway, not sure though. A 6' tree. Maybe £15 - £20 ($20 - $30?)

*sigh* at our house we can only afford to pay the bills.. therefore instead of the tree we use a pole.. a festivous pole.

My favorite tradition is the one where you put up the tree and then your cats tear it down.

Oh wait, that only happens at my house. miao!!

I like getting a tree. They smell good and it's one of the only things that still reminds me of Xmas when I was young! My roomate and I agreed we will get a tree this year. Yah!!
