I have this thing where if I see someone wakling on the side of the road while I am driving, I will honk and wave. Alot of times I will blow a kiss too. I like to think that it makes these people happy for 5 or so minutes or at least makes them confused as hell. What do you do to make peoples lives alittle more interesting?

I get off work at 2am and have an hour walk home, it makes it a go a lot faster when the walk home is spent stupidly smiling.

You rule smile

Smiling is good. I smile at everyone. Random acts of kindness are good.

But when people do that sort of thing to me, honking etc, I usually don't like it at all. I think: Are you making fun of me?! Do you know me? I am just trying to walk in peace, please leave me alone. blackeyed

I hate being honked at. Roads are noisy enough, and I always think that it means there's something wrong.

It's nice to be nice to people, and nice that you want to be, but not everyone likes getting the horn.

...errmm... what?

I chat up everybody, even though I'm a shy person. No one would guess that I am. Everyone talks to everyone in my city. It's a good thing.

Actually, waving really is not that hard. Maybe you should try and see for yourself. Now look straight ahead and do it. See how easy that was!! whatever

It's not being nice in general, just that one thing.
Believe me, I'm not alone.
I think if you've ever had people yell at you belligerently from their car, you'd understand why I'm wary of interaction with strangers in automobiles.

I'm usually suspicious when the honk/wave happens, because it happens so rarely. Last weekend in Madison, Wis., I was standing on a streetcorner and some chubby frat boy passenger with a bad crewcut leaned out of a speeding car, pointed his finger at me and yelled: "Fuck you!" Complete stranger. Probably drunk, but still.
