BROOKLYN!

I think it depends on the person, but I've heard that under normal circumstances a person who sleeps for about 17 hours will be able to repair all the non-permanent effects of sleep loss. So, if you were to stay up three days then sleep for 17 hours, You'd be more or less fine. probably a bit groggy, though.

(NOTE: this is the modern equivalent of folklore. I am not a doctor and should not be trusted. I may be working for SMERCH. You just never know about people these days.)

But what're the permanent effects? I've got a period of my life where I got dumber, and I'd like something more substantial than puberty to blame it on. biggrin

Edit: one example of this dumberness would be basic grammar.

I know you're supposed to start taking permanent brain damage at 72 hours without sleep. I can't really comment on what getting a less sleep than your body needs does to average people, though.

My last trip to Brooklyn was pretty devoid of sleep and I wouldn't have had it any other way.
