My Dad used to tell me stories back when I was very small, simple stories that I can't even remember. I think stories that you hear when you're just a child can have a lot of impact on your belief structure as you grow. What stories were you told as a kid?

My brother and I invented stories about racecar drivers. Strange, I know, but espescially since the Indi 500 was yesterday I was thinking about it. If anybody ever saw the Herbie films, we made up stuff like that, mostly focusing on Al Unser Junior and his archrival (according to us), Mario Andretti... God I was an odd child.

Did you know that The Love Bug is being remade? It looks as though it's shaping up to be a complete bastardization of the 1968 one.

Anyway.

I remember being told a story about two princesses who were stranded on a raft in the middle of the ocean, trying to remember not to drink the seawater or eat seaweed at any cost because even though they had very little fresh water. It was science for little kids, with a nice, clean-cut moral of, "Don't die when your boat has capsized."

There are lots more, but that's the one that comes to mind right now.
