I'm not entirely sure that throwing this lady in the clink was the right way to handle this. I mean, she's 86 years old and obviously not operating on all four cylinders. She's probably so addled with dementia that she pisses in flower pots, so I don't know that she's necessarily lucid enough to have understood what she did.

Wow, some of you people are really NICE about old people.

There is a condition where people make up things in order to recieve attention, maybe she suffered from it, or maybe she was lonely and wanted the human contact that the telephone brings... who knows.

Yeah, and it's not like her memory or judgment are going to be all that sharp at her age, either. She probably didn't remember calling 911 the first dozen times or so, and might have even thought she was calling the pizza place.

I'm just wondering how a woman her age is being left on her own to fend for herself like this. Where the hell is her family?

Actually, you missed the crux of the whole situation. She was upset because the pizza joint refused to deliver to her (for some unknown reason). She was calling the police to complain because she wanted the employees arrested. She was just a harrassing bitch.

Wasn't there an audio file floating around a while back that featured a woman complaining to a 911 dispatcher about an incorrect burger order? She apparently wanted police sent to the scene so she could get her burger made properly. The dispatcher told her no law was broken, that the police couldn't help, and that she should get a refund and leave. What the fuck's wrong with people?

can I cook a chicken overnight?

There's a massive problem in the UK with mobiles phones connecting to the emergency services. We have two numbers; the well known 999 and the less well known EU-harmonised 112. If a person locks their keypad they cannot dial any normal number, or 999, but they can dial 112. Most people don't know this. People lock their keypads and sit on their phones thus dialling 112, which connects them to the emrgency services and ties up the line. frown frown

this PDF has some numbers.

Wow. You'd think they'd do something about this.

Florida doesn't put up with shit like this...we'd have tazerd her ass, and as she lay on the floor foaming at the mouth...the cops would've thrown a gun down on the ground next to her and shouted "STOP RESISTING!" And "I KNOW TAI-JITSU MA'AM!" Florida don't play.

Jail is a bit harsh, but I'm only saying that because she wasn't clogging up a 911 line while my father or mother lay dying on the floor...choking on the pizza that we picked up from the damn store ourselves.

What in the hell.
Hahahahaha.

Funny in the sad way. Although 911 is hardly who id freak out over on the bad pizza service. I would however be steamed and likely to pester the hell out of the pizza place. Also pizza places take too damned long these days...

and their products are CRAPPIER!
wtf.
heh.
