I hate giving it out. Is anyone else "verified" any problems, caveats, concerns? I really don't want to give the info out, but think I might have to unless I have a good reason to not.

I have been with PayPal from the beginning. I have never, ever had an issue with security/confidence.

I will say that their fees are onerous for those collecting money when it is paid via credit card.

PayPal is reputable. It has been around for a long time and it's widely used. I have never had a problem, and I would trust them over pretty much any other site looking for my financial info.

I gave them my account number years ago, and have had no problems. But you have to be careful about the spoofed paypal emails. Any email from paypal will be addressed to you by name, not "Dear Paypal Customer."

One of my coworkers got suckered with that one.

generally...I try to avoid paypal...but since I already have a verified account it's not too big of a problem...but if you can, I'd say skip it...if you can't then you'll have to bite the bullet...or nip it in the bud...or whatever colloquial expression you prefer to use to indicate taking action.

Just do NOT answer any e-mails that CLAIM to be from Paypal asking for any such info. Just do all that kind of communication ON the Paypal site itself. No problems.

Exactly. Send any email like this to spoof@paypal.com w/all the contact info and everything and they'll tell you in minutes whether it's legit or not (it's been not for me every single time).

You need the bank account # because using a CCN is only if you have a "business" account, which costs more in the way of fees.

I heart PayPal, especially where I can be an eBay whore. I've never had problems.

Exactly. I forward any e-mails I get to Spoof@ebay.com and their customer support will tell you if the e-mail is legitimate or not, usually within 24 hours.

See, there it is: a caveat. Take that, G1, and your 'Well Duh,' put them in your pipe and smoke them. Also, I don't sell on ebay, and they can credit your credit card.

If you're concerned, just set up a second checking account at some free bank, and link that to Paypal.

Pay Pal is reputable, but many of the people who utilize it are not, and Pay Pal do not do much of anything about fraud. Use it at your own risk.
