Although "Cocks" is that sense doesn't refer to the penis, so I don't think it's exactly the same thing as if someone wore something that said "I love (my) cock." Even though the word is there, the message is a little different and people don't react to it the same. So many people have those hats here that no one pays attention to them. Incidentally, the best one (which I think they stopped selling because of the overt innuendo) said "You can't lick our Cocks."

sidenote: am i the only person out there who's had enough of the vagina monolouges?

I'm not against the ladies and their rights... I'm just sick of vaginas droning on and on and on and on while my girlfriend elbows me in the stomach because I'm snoring...

C'mon people... we need vagina dialouges. I'm tired of being told how it is, I'd rather have a constructive dialouge between vaginas.

They're just preventing the inevitable 'I ♥ Your Vagina' pin.

All the reviews said "Women can finally do what men have been doing all along, talk about their genitals."

I don't sit around with the guys and talk about my dick. Ever

Oh, but maybe they meant we were talking about women's genitals...Yeah, we do that.

Good for her, seriously.

Now if we can only get all the world's hippy know-it-alls to stop tossing in unneeded stereotypical football player slams to try and make points.

If this is the case, then guys shouldn't be allowed to wear Hooters t-shirts to school (because that means they love women's boobs) or those bizarre Big Johnson t-shirts that were popular many years ago (which is basically saying they love their penises).
I remember reading a long time ago that a group of high school girls were offended by the Hooters t-shirts and made their own shirts which said "Cocks - Nothing to Crow About." And what happened? Their shirts got banned.
I am vehemently anti-censorship, and there is an obvious double standard as to what innuendo is appropriate to wear to high school.

i'm going out on a limb here.... but...

i've saw the vagina monologues last year. apparently, they changed their slogan, cuz i have a pin that says 'vaginas unite.' i have it on one of my purses, along with another i got at the monologues that says 'i'm your bob,' but you'd have to have seen the show to understand that.

anyway, i think that wearing the pin is acceptable. and again, maybe it's just me. but saying that it's more 'appropriate' for college campuses is absurd. do females not get raped, abused, harassed, etc, until they are in college?? of course not. kindergarteners can be sexually assulted. and when it comes down to it, the 'vagina monologues' protrayed to me that it's not about loving your vagina...it's about standing up for your self, not letting women get brutalized and opressed. it's done to raise money for abuse centers and shelters. the girl who directed the show i saw had been raped several times and stood on that stage and admitted it. that takes courage, and i think that we should all show support for women who have been through hell and back.

so like it or not, i guess i *heart* my vagina too. tongue

(I particularly hate the British 'FCUK ' stuff perpetrated by the French Collection chain. I can't find it in me to believe there's any reason to wear that except a desire to offend.)

FCUK is the French Connection chain. French Connection United Kingdom. But yeah, they can go and get rooted. Those t-shirts are so lame; if you own one, feel free to never wear it again.

All I know is that we need some "I <3 Your Vagina/Cunt" pins for the fellas. I mean, we have to support the ladies, don't we?

How about a T-shirt with a repro of Gustave Courbet's "L'Origine Du Monde"?

This has been all over the papers here in MN. Apparently, they had tshirts printed that said "I [heart] my vagina" for the girls and "I support your vagina" for the boys. They were going to wear them to school on the same day, but I haven't heard anything new about it.

Who cares? It's high school. It won't matter what happened there once they're out, anyway.

Actually I think a button like that isn't particularly appropriate for high school. She should start a tolerance organization instead.

I think that all of this talk about what should and shouldn't be allowed in high schools is circumlocuting the point.

Highschool aged people are not given enough credit (nor are elementary school aged children, nor are twentysomethings, nor is anyone over the age of 70).
Let's let these people decide for themselves what their highschool experience should be like.
And the best way for that to happen is to let them express themselves.

It’s only appropriate at college campuses because harassment, rape, sexism, oppression, and patriarchy only occur on college campuses .....
WTF!? I hope I misunderstood that. I honestly don't think that pin would be overly disruptive. Im sure it would get a few laughs and snickers but not disruptive. But then there's always an asshole in every crowd.....
