It's a tragedy. I need to say goodby to my good friend and confidant alcohol.

Whenever I drink these days I'm fine at the time, but ay a heavy pice the following day...hangover to the power of 10.

So that's it...enough. No more booze for this boy.

Anybody else share my pain?

There's something about waking up at 8 am on Sunday with no hangover. Jsut clarity and energy. I used to get up 2 or 4PM and be hung over and depressed cause the whole day was gone. Now that doesn't happen

(as much).

Everyone knows that the liver is where you store your sins. And only alcohol will flush those sins out of there. It's like a poison smoke bug bomb.

I had to stop drinking for two weeks, while I was on medication. I made it for about a week and a half, then I saw the huge bottle of Captain Morgan Private Reserve.

you can still drink unless you have a control problem and can't drink without getting smashed, then you should give it up. but a couple drinks is awesome social lubricant.

Well done, buddy! Join us clean and sober lot smile
I gave up on NTD2005 after waking up from being unconscious for 6 hours eeek

I drank lots of Absolut Vodka and even mixed with regular Vodka and Tequila shots.

It all starts to taste bland and generic after a while, and why spend money on something i don't enjoy?

Great nite, from what I can remember, but throwing up is never fun.

Haven't had a drop since and am damn proud smile

Congrats. As long as you're doing it for yourself and no one else, thumbs up.

That being said, even after my bad drunken moment the other night, no stopping for me.

I'm pretty sure that once you decide that you need to stop drinking, you are past the point of being able to have "a couple drinks".

That said, I wish you lots of luck with the endeavor. I find that I can avoid drinking by being the designated driver when I go out with my friends. By volunteering to drive, I can enlist my friends' help to avoid drinking (and keep them from pressuring me to join them). smile

About a month ago I pretty much cut myself off... went from a heavy drinker (3 times a week) to drinking only once this month, and it was for the last day of classes margarita night, so it wasnt any sort of killer drinking...

since the month ago when i pretty much cut myself off ive been going to the gym 5 times a week and i have never felt better in my whole 19 years of existence...

it does get hard though because all of my friends are still heavy drinkers and call me everyother night to go get drunk... they dont understand that someone would just not want to drink, so ive been picking up extra shifts at work as an excuse not to drink...

Good for you! I gave up alcohol about a year and a half ago. Now I actually remember what I did on the weekends. I can't say I ever had a problem with hangovers though--never had one! But seriously, I'm happy for you. It is certainly healthier for you. Good luck. smile

That is good for you...when the hangovers increase like that it might be evidence of the degrading functioning of your liver. This organ has a minute capability to regenerate, so this is probably very good for you. Before permanent, irreversible damage could happen.
