Some of these posts are silly. Someone said something about paypal being unregulated and a grey area? Wire Frauds, computer fraud, and credit card frausd are all aplicable. People who screw around with paypal are not bright. It's like dicking someone who sends a postal money order.
There are certainly steps you must take. Paypal has astrict 30 day policy. If you do not report an incident within those 30 days they'll do nothing. Do not rely on thier customer support. Those people will suggest you do anything you can to solve the problem you'reself prior to contacting paypal. Thats a no no. Make the report with paypal at 29 days. If you can fix the problem yourself you can always unfile. Thats not so much for the above case. For the above case I wouldn't have even bothered paypal. It's not likely they could do much. What I would do was contact the credit card company for fraud. Most credit cards have like a 5,000 no questions asked return policy. Meaning the second you make the claim they put the money back, and then start investigating.
