I got a Netflix membership last month. I love it; I'm truly addicted. My only problem I only have one friend on Netflix. I feel I have to share my movie ratings and review with others.

What is the
*Coolest
*Scariest
*Biggest Mind Fuck
etc....
movie you've ever scene?

Anyone else addcited to
Netflix?

Edited to get more traffic. I suck at starting threads but I really, really want this one to last.

not a fan of "Classics"?
I can understand not a fan of "old movies" because most old movies (like most new movies) are fucking awful.

but classics?!?! the mere word basically means "good movie"

Ooooh... you can have friends now? We're on as idjiit@hotmail.com if you want to add us. Our tastes are pretty broad - we've been a bad horror film kick lately.

Love Netflix, but has anyone else noticed an increase in bad DVDs? Usually i can fix it with a good cleaning, but it seems like most of the flicks I rent start skipping at some point.

Oh, and you should rent "The Dancer Upstairs". I got it on a whim, and it is VERY good. The (first?) film directed by John Malkovich, and it stars Javier Bardem. Oddly overlooked when it came out.

Seven Samurai and The Seventh Seal are two classics that come to mind. I know you said you don't like classics, but you need to learn to love them or we are through. You hear me?

If anyone is more interested in indie and hard to find movies you should try GreenCine. Its like netflix in that they mail the DVDs, have no late fees, etc, but you can find a much wider variety of films. Hell, they even have a large "Adult Film" listing. Now who can say "no" to porn delivered right to your door?! wink biggrin

I love Netflix. We have been getting into old TV shows lately. But as for non-old, non-subtitled, and non-war movies, how about Limbo (or really anything by John Sayles), the Cider House Rules, or the French Connection?

Most of the NetFlix movies that are listed under classics do nothing for me. I'm trying to get around to all the Academy Award Winners and such.

Academy Awards are about industry politics, not the best movie of the year.

todays double feature you need to get:
- Fail Safe & Dr. Strangelove

tomorrow's:
- Butch Cassidy & The Sting

the day after's:
- Iron Giant & The Incredibles

and the day after that's:
Treasure of the Sierra Madre & The Maltese Falcon

I thought the skipping was just my cheap DVD player.. When we watch on the good one we don't have problems.
