I was thinking about this and it occurred ot me that the great majority of people my age that are my friends are not thinking about having kids at all, ever.

Of course, there are people on SG who already have kids; I'm thinking of the ones who don't.

I'm just wondering what people think about this.

I've thought about it, and the answer I've come up with is: fuck if I know.

Whatevs, I got time.

I would like to have children. No more than three, probably two. And not for a long time. But one day, yeah. smile Definately.

Sometimes. I'm 27, and I'll be 28 this year, but my biological clock definitely isn't ticking the way some women's seem to be at this point in their lives. The whole "I would like to have a kid" thing seems like a philosophical exercise rather than something that might actually happen.

The idea of actually, physically being pregnant and giving birth, however, I find totally repugnant and abhorrent. *shudder* I don't know if I could ever possibly go through that without resenting anyone involved (i.e. the father, the child, myself...).

So yeah. Not having a kid anytime in the forseeable future.

I think I'd be a damn good mother if I had to be, though.

Yeah, I turned 30 not long ago. My brain still feels 18. I won't even trust myself with a cat. The whole concept is so abstract to me.

It is rather Alien-esque, that whole thing, isn't it? heh.

I think I would be a bad parent cuz I'd be so demanding... "You! You're me! Only out of Beta! So get it right!"

"No" x a googleplex + infinity + 1.

And not only do I fervantly not want children for myself, I'd like to take this opportunity to encourage more people to consider abortion.

At one time I actually did want to have children of my own, but living with my teenage brother has sort of doused that flame. The positive side is that I've been considering adoption after my brother finishes high school. So many misguided teenagers out there, so few people willing to put them in a loving, brotherly choke-hold.

Nope. Purely because I think I would make a terrible mother.

My Mum had a baby when I was 14 so that also put me right off. As amazing as she is I almost feel as if I have been through it all already because it was just us three and my responsibilities were much greater than just the usual sibling relationship. If I was to reconsider later on I think adoption would be my only option, growing one myself just worries me. As it is I am hoping to stick to dogs.

I don't know if I'll have kids. I find them in general to be pretty annoying and I have trouble taking care of myself. If I can't even pick out my own outfit in the morning and eat breakfast every day how am I going to make sure a kid does these things? *shrug*

I'd like to have kids, I think. I'll call a son Oscar, and a daughter Kezia. If I have more than one of each sex, I'm rooted; they're the only names I'm down with. So if I have twim daughters, they'll be Kezia 1 and Kezia 2. It's only right.

in the future yes and if possible i'd really like to stick with one kid, there's tons of fucked up kids in the world these days and i'm actually suprised when i find one that's not swearing like a sailor or actually being polite.

i'd like one kid so i can give it all my attention and try my best to make sure at least he or she turns out right, it's not like i'm confident in my parenting skills to begin with.

I've wanted to have kids since I was one.

I even tried via sperm donor with my girlfriend when I was 19. Now I'm going to wait unitl I'm 27.

Alot of my friends think I'm crazy, they want nothing to do with kids.

i was never going to have kids. when i was dead and buried, that was going to be the only thing left of me (possibly a cat stevens lyric). the world could go to hell without me or mine. it's too fucked up a place to bring another life into and i was too fucked up an individual to be trusted with another being.

it happened though. i have to say that it's gone a long way in un-fucking me up.

I haven't completely ruled out adoption though, later on in life.
