Then it's time for a good ol' GOP style pre-emptive strike!

I love the shocked and incredulous smile on that fake Ronald McDonald's face. It's like he's saying, "Haha, uh, heh, what are you doing man? That's, ah, not that funny, heh, you know? Heh, put that shit away man, I'm serious..."

From what I've read, they stopped frying the fries on beef tallow years ago - about the same time they discontinued the old-school fried cherry pies.

yep. rectangular hollow pockets of dough, filled with red spooge that sometimes had as many as three cherries in it, deep fried in grease until the dough shell was crispy on the outside but still a bit chewy on the inside.

They were about 69 cents when i was a kid, came in a paper sleeve, and were hot as hell. Unfuckingbelieveably good with black coffee in the morning.

McDonalds will make you fat. They serve Big Macs. They serve Quarter Pounders. They will put pounds on you.

Wheaties, breakfast of champions.

I'd have to agree. Those lawsuits against McD's are pretty much bupkus. Bad food makes ME gain weight, but you don't see ME suing. I just eat fruit and veggies. Plus the occasional baby. wink

There was a little more to them than "bupkus," but since most people here have at least read Fast Food Nation, I don't feel a need to drag out the whole argument. My view is that the lawsuits were dubious from a legal standpoint but proved to have a hell of an impact on media coverage and public opinion. Anything that raises people's awareness of a problem and helps brings important, previously hidden issues to light is a good thing. If it spurs fast-food companies to start offering more salads and avoid some of their sketchier "disclosure" practices in order to reduce their legal exposure, so much the better.

Happy 50th birthday, Ronald McDonald. May middle age treat you as well as it has your loyal customers. whatever

Per the first McDonald's coments, McDonald's was started by Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernadino, CA in 1948. Kroc became a franchisee and opened his own in Illinois.

I really think they should have gone with the "Big Dick" instead of "Big Mac".
