It doesn't make you a bad person, but the fact that you paid more in gas proves that it does effect you and anyone in the market at that time knows how much of an effect those things can have on a person or family. Retirement accounts took an enormous hit. It may not be as bad as losing a family member, but seeing your retirement slip away as your locked into shit stocks sucks.

An article in the British Medical Journal in April 2002 suggested that at least 20% of cancer of the cervix would be avoided if all men were circumcised. Surely that alone makes it worth doing?

haha it was poorly written, but basically it was trying to point out that for our culture to disapprove of another culture's habits, given the abortion example, is somewhat hypocritical. Still though, a "well we're fucked too!" argument isn't going to hold very well.
