So, I'm moving to Kent (near Seattle) and am looking for a local movie theatre that shows old movies. Down here we have the Alamo Drafthouse that shows every kind of old movie (from Top Gun to Rocky Horror and everything in between) on the weekends and during slow weeks. I'm trying to find something like this in the area and figure someone on here would know.

Pick up a copy of The Stranger, there's all kinds of odd movie listings in there.

There is nothing Seattle as cool as the Alamo Drafthouse. Stay in Texas.

ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE. Literally the one reason I want to take a trip to Texas.

The Drafthouse is damn worth the trip. Maybe I can convince them to send the traveling roadshow they have with me up to Seattle. Course the success of an outdoor movie theatre on wheels in the Pacific Northwest seems questionable at best.

Thanks for all the info, I'll definitely check it all out. Where can you get the Stranger? Is that an underground paper? We have something called The Current around here that you get at all the head shops, record stores, campus', et cetera that I have a feeling is a lot like what ya'll are talking about.

Since you are going to be in Kent you might look up the Grand Cinema in Tacoma as well. About the same distance as a trip to Seattle. They have some good movies. The Stranger can be found at most record shops and cafes in town. Or on the web at http://www.thestranger.com/current/ .
