I just hope authorities don't point at this and call it BDSM.

With the parole system being what it is with current prison overpopulation, "life sentence" just doesn't mean what it used to. Depending on what crime you commit, there there is a certain percentage of your time served after wich you can apply for parole, even with a life sentance. That's why they bother with multiple concurent or consecutive terms. That affects when you can apply for parole.
From the sounds of it, the judge sentenced this asshole to life and guaranteed he could not get parole within 4 years and two months.

I hope that saying you gotta finish the job was just crass sick humour, but with misogyny like "I wonder what she did to cause"-even w/the unconvincing disclaimer that it was wrong anyway (yes, & lynching is wrong even when blacks "sassed " back)-it is impossible to tell the sentiment from str8t up viciousness.

Though he being wished mutilation & worse is not right either. America has become more angy & cruel in some ways, but leveraging all hate towards some sick guy does not make one tough or righteous. Noting how horrible it is & being glad he is punished & off the street is good & does not make demean or belittle us.

I'm doing a bit of research about UK snetencing, so i hope to be able to answer those questions later. Like: When will he be out, and will they be able to put him away easily if he does this again etc.

Right: "4 years, three months" is his "tarif", which is the minimum he can serve. After that he can apply for parole. HE CAN BE RECALLED AT ANY TIME.

haha...along those lines...I have heard rumors you can make a microwave gun out of a dismantled micro. I guess there are plans out there on the net somewhere. It supposedly heats things from the inside out, until they die.

The US Military has something like this, but its only used to coerce people into dropping their weapons - supposedly. I think it's a laser beam, though.

And what made this guy flip out? Pure psychosis? Or maybe he snapped in reaction to something she did (not saying its justified)?

Then why ask why? Try Bud Dry.

Seriously, there is nothing on earth that justifies an 18 hour torture marathon. Who cares why he did it?

I think I explained very clearly that it was not justified. I was wondering if something triggered his psychotic behavior or it was purely random.

I even put a disclaimer as to avoid comments like that.

I knew I shouldn't even bother commenting...people love to misconstrue things and imagine thins that were never said. I commented that it could have been triggered by pure psychosis. But ignoring triggers that very well could have thrown the psychotic man over the edge is kind of silly. It very well could have been triggered by nothing at all, but it could have been something she did to trigger the sensless violence. If I have to explain anymore that this could never be justified, then you are far to sensitive and you're completely misconstruing what I asked in the first place.

Sometimes psychotic behavior is sparked by inane catalysts. Sometimes it's completely random. I was wondering which case was true for this story. Please do not read into it any further.

Now I understand what you're saying I think you make a good point. Why are some people extremely violent, and can anything be done to find out who is likely to "snap", and is there anyway of preventing it form happening, or from stopping it from happening again?
