I was going to post this stuff to my journal, but considering that i've had 10 comments in a month (partly my fault, i suppose, you have to make comments to receive them, but i'm way too busy lately) I'm going to post them here in the boards. Please view these pictures of my redneck neighbors at your leisure.

here we see the first view of the fence that my redneck neighbors built. pay attention to the iron bars embedded in the ground for support, and the currogated tin. also notice that none of the supports are of the same size or materiel, just a hodge-podge of misc. building supply.

in this photo we see how the tin suddenly gives way to chicken wire, accented by angle-iron supports. stunning. simply stunning.

in this photo we see the fencing that my neighbors put up to separate their backyard in half. cheap vinyl materiel, accented with old fence post supports, and "strengthened" with some planking. jesus christ, at least paint it white or something. furthermore, the ladder that is visible in the background is always there. i don't why.... no one ever climbs up to the roof.

here we see how my redneck neighbors have extended the chicken wire up to six feet in height, but only right here on the corner of the property. please note that this is the only part of the entire yard that features chicken wire.

here we see the pickup truck bed, accessorized by a La-Z-Boy, along with other misc. trash that has been sitting in my neighbor's yard ever since i moved in. notice how the grass is higher underneath, showing that rather than drag this shit off to the dump, they just mow the lawn around it every week. i repeat, stunning. simply stunning.

here we see the high chair that sits out in front of their house 24/7. they have no chuldren that live there younger than 14, and no children young enough to use a high chair ever visit. why is it always outside in the front yard? no one knows.....

finally, here we see the front of their house. notice the wooden plank fencing that gives way to wrought iron. the iron is only in the front though... around the other side, its more vinyl fencing.

Well, thats it for now... thank you for allowing me to share my redneck neighbors with you.

At least their house seems to be attached to the ground. wink

Can the city not do anything about that? Seems like it would be against some kind of code or something.

That looks like every other house/trailer where I live. Damn. Reason # 792 why I hate where I live.
The neighbors to my brother have that sort of thing going on. And they keep trying to build onto their super shitty house but instead of building on the oposite side where they have plenty of room, they will build closer and closer to the fence between their house and my brothers. And it looks like they are useing cardboard boxes to build with, lol.

Seriously, dude, call the city building department. That drives down land values which drives down tax revenue, so the city has a vested interest in getting that cleaned up.

The sad thing is that since this is in California, they can actually rent out the space under the truck bed for $800 a month.

I like the idea of the corrugated steel. If it were implimented properly, it would be stunning.

It is amazing how people sometimes can't see the big picture. It takes the same amount of time to do things right as it does to do them wrong. Sometimes it actually takes longer to fuck things up.

If that dude just took a step back and thought about how shitty it was going to look, he might have come up with a design that was, lets say, a little bit more modular. He could add to his "great wall" and not create an eye sore. blackeyed

A lot of building departments have specific ordinances on fence height, etc. Check into it...good luck.

My brother saw his neighbor errecting a fence in a kooky manner and offered to help him do it right...It ended up looking nice. Of course, it was all the same material.
