BTW, before I get flamed here, I personally could care less what people do in their bedroom so long as two consenting adults are the ones doing it. And I have also attended the gay pride parade here in Atlanta.
March, take to the streets, do whatever you want, but don't expect everybody to like it.
Because we are not telling millions of people to abandon their tolerance and hate other humans because of their sex life.
Like mommie always said, if you can't say something nice don't say it at all. Now multiply that wisdom by every person the religious leaders are reaching with their ill messages of hate.
Yeah, when put in that perspective they suck don't they?

the difference is that when established religious groups gather for a festival/mass prayer session/whatever, you don't see a bunch of atheist SG members go on TV or do anything of the sort to publicly decry the event. we know they're idiots, we know they're preaching to the converted, so go right ahead. the sad fact is that the clergy think kicking up a fuss makes them appear relevant and important when really they are just squirming in the face of extinction.
oh and just for the record i would love to hear anyone of these jackass puppets explain exactly what is wrong with homosexuality, though i'm sure they wouldn't bother trying to justify their prejudice as it would soon become apparent that they simply don't think for themselves, which would be ever so embarassing.
I guess I just find the reverse bigotry of most of these comments amusing. Let's fight bigotry by saying the Pope fondles kids and calling religious people stupid. Hurray!
With this post, I'll let you return to your own small minded prejudices (which is exactly what you are accusing the religious zealots of).
even if my opinions are "small-minded prejudices", they are still confined to the message boards of one website in a sea of millions. you have missed my point, which is that i, like most atheists, do nothing to actively challenge or disrupt the lifestyles of others, unlike the clergy, who still think they have a right to run the show.
p.s. conversely, and just for the record, i'd like to add that these people are really asking for it by marching through Jerusalem. to me there is a sense of "why bother"...
