on college. I've yet to spend my G.I. Bill.
The I.T. field has had it's moments, but i really am debating in getting into the Arts at the end of the year, if there is a non-private school in state around Atlanta.
If art school is too much, I may try a different field. What degrees might be right for me if I can't get into art school. I'm thinking 2 years community college, 2 years university.
you should try the illinois institute of art in chicago. you can get a *useful* arts type degree in two years. and chicago rawks. you would too. i could even show you around...
Welding. All forms. You can make really cool stuff out of metal. And if it doesn't work out you can always fall back on it doing some blu collar shtuff.
What about chemistry then you can make your own paint. It's like that chick that started the nail polish company Hard Candy, she was a chemist and needed a special shade of polish. Now that's hot.
if you like to travel, pair it up with your engineering bout and take construction management courses. ass loads of cash for tough foreign countries that will be all worth it.
If you have an IT background, but are looking for something to satiate the inner artist, consider video editing/production or graphic design.
Something to consider with culinary school, I haven't met too many chefs at big restaurants who werent stressed out, tired, and angry all the time. With the exception of the really famous ones (their own TV shows), most have seemed dissatisfied.

God, every time I see this thread title I think it's going to be about $20,000 worth of cocaine.
Well, if I would've known you liked blow, I would've gotten you a line instead of a free shot on your trip through Atlanta. If I knew where to get any... hookers maybe?

Anyway, have fun!
I actually spoke to a guy who did a metal sculpture used in Pulp Fiction ( http://www.tollsculptor.com ), this was back in 2002 or so when I did DSL support for Earthlink. If I could sculpt like that, I'd definitely take it up.
I'm not going to look into it seriously until later this summer. I'm writing a novel, so depending on what feedback I get from that, I may look into a writing career as well, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy the field.
