Bad tippers, beware

In Australia, people who work in the service industry are actually paid a decent wage. So people only tip when service people actually earn it by doing more than, like, their job.

It's a system that works. Tipping people because its obligatory sucks. Like, 10% of the bill or whatever just because you did the job you're employed to do? Your fucking boss should be paying you.

C'mon, not everyone listed is a bad tipper...

I tip 10% on bad service and 20% on good service. There was only time I didn't leave any tip at all: We were seated, the waitress took our drink order. When she brought them, we said we needed a couple of minutes to decide what we wanted. There were only 3 tables full in the restaurant. She proceeded to ignore us for an HOUR, while we made repeated attempts to get her attention. When we complained the manager he didn't seem to care. No food for us that night. I had to convince my friends to even pay for the drinks!

Hell, I wouldn't have paid for drinks. I would've walked out after 15 minutes.

I always tip +15%. If I get bad service I tip with lots of nickles.

I got two words for that learn to fukkin type cause if youre expecting me to help out with the rent your in for a big fucking surprise.

The problem with this logic is that the whole system is set up around the tip structure. What happens if everyone simultaneously stopped tipping? Restaurants have to start paying their employees $5.15/hour or more and the cost of your food goes up proportionally. So, really, it's a wash.

You, though, are paying less than the food would cost were the market not arranged with tipping in mind. You're like one of those guys who doesn't buy music anymore.
