I was just telling somebody about this yesterday. I wasn't sure it would ever happen.

Does anybody know if they're counting the TV movie Doctor at #8?

Doctor Who rocks. I'm so envious that Britain and Canada get it and that the stupid Sci Fi channel didn't pick it up out here. I grew up on that show! My family has just about every single one of them on tape. >DVD now as my dad has been transferring them over< I swear Doctor Who was probably the greatest Sci Fi show ever made, Tom Baker just rocks. "Would you like a jelly baby?" Oh yeah, and it's all about the Cybermen and Daleks. "Resistance is useless" and "EXTERMINATE!"

Now I couldn't tell and have been somewhat lazy to look it up but I saw the new Doctor on the cover of my mom's Starlog magazine and I was wondering if it was the same guy who was that British Major in "28 Days Later" I swear it looks like him or am I just imagining things?

yup it's him; Chris Eccleston (was also in Shallow Grave, Elizabeth, EXistenZ, The Others and the original BBC version of 'Cracker' amongst many other things) he's generally very good... more info here

Apparently, they're skipping over any explaination for the time being, but he is the NINTH doctor....so something happened somewhere sometime.

Best way to sort out continuity. Ignore it. Red Dwarf and Lister's 2 appendix removals. Star Trek and the heisenberg compensators. biggrin

And if they want to they can always get around the 12 lives somehow. The Master did it countless times so why not smile God I remember all those old shows. Makes me want to watch them all over again. Cybermen, Daleks, Ice Warriors, Yeti's, Silurian, Sea Devils. Crazy demonic puppets >The Terror of the Autons< godo stuff, cheap special effects and barbaric companions. >Leela< What more could you want? smile

There once was a group under the name The TARDIS, but it apparently no longer exists.

Lookit that. SAD. A damned Yank has to set up a group dedicated to the greatest scifi series (English or otherwise) ever.
