The South African women's soccer team will receive the Miss Manners treatment, with a dash of Baywatch, in order to attract sponsors and draw attention to their feminine features in anticipation of the 2007 World Cup. A senior soccer representative decried their masculine ways, and emphasized a need for them to act more womanly.

"Obviously they can't wear skirts on pitch... but they will be given outfits made for women, with female shirts that are shaped for breasts," Ledwaba said.

Many of the women on the team are fairly rough hewn; they joined the team directly from the townships without the benefit of prep schools.

"We need to teach them etiquette and the importance of being a role model," said Ledwaba. "There are mothers out there who won't let their daughters play football because they think they'll start acting like boys."

It is believed the makeover is needed for their debut. The squad has never competed in a world tournament.

I't's gotta be nice to live in a country where there no more pressing problems than the attire of the women's soccer team.

That seems so ridiculouse. Like Negress said, why can't they be themselves? They are happy just playing the game! So let them be happy. And 730A_trixel_fem I don't know if you ment that seriously or not but in the fashion world there are different cuts of clothing that are made for men and/or women. It's society's way of making women feel bad about themselves if they can't fit into Paris Hilton's clothes. Bastards.

Even Paris Hilton dosen't fit into her clothes, given the amount of her that hangs out them most of the time.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter last year courted controversy when he urged women players to wear tighter shorts to distinguish them from men.

That will help sponsors sell stuff to the crowds WOMEN that follow the sport. That same rule should apply to the Brazilian team though, Ronaldo has a nicer ass than most of the girls I know.
