I have the original widescreeen box set - a great treasure! I have a friend that works at the Lucas library and had the chance to talk to the head archivist at a party a while back. He said the originals will probably never be released on DVD. They're already in preproduction to release the originals after the third film comes out. Expect LOTS of neat features and uneen things!

The only way George Lucas can redeem himself in my eyes after those last two crapfests is to make me my own personal AT-ST that I can drive around the city. With laser guns.

Rumor has it that Lucas isn't releasing the original trilogy until after he's completed episode three; at which point episodes four through seven will be remade for a final (hopefully) time, adding characters, creatures, and vehicles that were introduced in the first three episodes. Fuck it, I'll buy 'em.
