Planes Mistaken For Stars are a four piece band of rawkus power and cutting insight. They punch you square in the face and laugh at you as you watch it begin to make sense. Coming out of the "rust belt" in Peoria, Illinois and heading to hardcore heaven - Denver?

Planes Mistaken For Stars have made a decent little name for themselves in their 6 years as a band, and they seem to be poised for even bigger things. They are touring with HIGH ON FIRE right now, before going to Europe to tour with CONVERGE...

Awwww PMFS. I remember moving to Portland around 5 years ago and hearing about them. I would walk around rainy portland and listen to PMFS allll the time. I would leave on late night walks around Goose Hollow just for an excuse to listen to them loud.

And of course, everytime they've been to Portland in the last 5 years, I've missed it. Usually they jump ship on the tours they're opening before they make it here. But, next time fuckers.

I can't say enough great stuff about this band. Great work ethic, tireless effort to make good music, and they get nakey sometimes and let their wangs flop around.

PS: The new record is just as flawless as knife in the marathon. What a great great record!!!!

Being a Denver-ite, I must say that I fucking love Planes-- with more fervor than all the other local bands combined.

Thanks to them for dropping off the European Converge tour and giving their spot to a more deserving band.

No disrespect to PMFS. But why did they drop off the tour?

i knew the reason last week
but i forget exactly

some kind of health or other internal concern
for PMFS
caused them to drop off

I've liked them for a few years, but I rediscovered them right before Up In Them Guts. I'd just made a mix cd with like 6 of their songs on it, and walk into a local record shop and there's PMFS sitting with the new shit. I was like "Holy fuck!" and bought it right there.

That album is just ridiculously good. Frighteningly good.
