There is no one on the planet that has advanced the art of turntablism as much as DJ Qbert. Qbert scratches, creates scratch movies like Wave Twisters, invents new equipment and releases scratch educational DVDs.

Check out the official site for DJ Qbert

Daniel Robert Epstein: What are you up to?

DJ Qbert: I’m just hanging out in Hawaii. It’s awesome.

DRE: Are you taking a break after the tour?

Q: Yeah I’m at my second home here in Hawaii. It’s a little condo right by the ocean.

Growing up, my dad let me watch a lot of competition videos that featured Qbert and Qbert's assortment of projects. My dad like...idolizes the guy. Qbert definitely inspired some of my musical ambition.

Qbert is so cute! the past 2 interviews have been great... i mean, 2 of my idols; my turntablist idol, and my comedic filmmaker idol. how cool can it get?
and, for the record, the QFO is fucking incredible...especially when Q's on it.

qbert threw down a pretty ill set at the viper room a few weeks back.

plus the scratching over vivaldi's four seasons he threw down on the handsome boy modeling school album is freaktastic brilliant.

but with all the ass hair questions, how come no queries into his eyebrow grooming habits?

i'm a little surprised that there was no reference to many of Q's contemporaries like D Styles, or the Invisible Skratch Piklz. but anyhow, if you guys are into turntablism, check out Phantasmagoria by D-Styles. it's considered by many to be the first definitive turntablism album, and it's super hot to bump on at a dance party.
