mine peaked in the 1970's at #2, but then dropped back to #16 in the 80's when I was born...steadily declining ever since.
my boyfriends name peaked at #1 in the 1940's and has been on a steady decline ever since.

I read this thread wrong. I thought it said "Bad names through history". I was gonna come in here and say there was a guy in my highschool named Barry Mydinger. No joke.

hey man...i was #3 in the 70s.

i think the most intersting thing is try any hispanic name. it rockets up from out of nowhere.

i mean i know why...hispanics are the largest growing population in the country. but names like hector (ranked 150), alberto (270), and jorge (110) ourank a lot of common anglo-european names.

My name (Daniel) peaked in the 1980s, and with me being born in 1981, I guess that makes sense. I hate my name though, my parents seriously have no imagination. When we were all trying to come up with names for our pets over the years (we've had many/dogs, chickens, ducks, geese) their ideas were always lame. Mine were super freaky, in an awesome way. I have a few baby name ideas which I think are pretty cool. Of course I'll probably need to hold off my excitement until I meet the person who is willing to squeeze out my evil devil children.

Hells yeah, I feel special. My #1 boy name is pretty rare, peaking in the 20s. My #1 daughter name isn't even on the map. Nothing is better than original names, thats what I say.
