i have a feeling that i narrowly escaped death theis afternoon. i took a wrong turn while driving and ended up lost is some really out of the way little town. i mean TINY. as in the church, the bank and the post office are the same building. and i gotta say, i thing that every horror movie ever made took place in this town. every building was either abandoned and dilapidated, completely generic (where the name of the store is just what they sell like "FISH!" or "AUTO PARTS!"), or ridiculously evil and freaky looking (not making this up, there was a place called "SMILEY'S MEAT MARKET" complete with a big clown head on the sign surreal ). there were even hitch hikers every couple blocks (i assume that depending on which one i picked up i would have gotten to experience a different horror movie scenario). i never actually came accross "Captain Spaulding's Museum of Monsters and Madmen" but im pretty sure i would have if i kept going. i mean JUST THINK! if it had been night time and raining i would have gotten a flat tire in front of one of these places and that would be it for me! i wasnt with a bunch of friends that could have been picked off one by one, and allowing me to escape; it was just ME! i would have been one of the corpses that gets found all chopped up half way through the movie! i could have ended up in one of "smiley's" hamburgers! kinda gives ya a new respect for life dont it? skull

note: i posted this in my journal first but realized no one would ever see it if it was JUST there so....now its here confused

that's actually good. I'd have gotten out, looked for the nearest high school senior with feathered blonde hair and big cans, snuck off into the woods with her, and then...you know, died a lot.

I've been in towns like that.. my school from grade 5-8 had children from three towns and the surrounding area because the towns were so small.. (the school still only had 300 from Jk-8...)

They scare me.. even after living there.

dude it may not even have had a name, and just been part of the county. there was no sign saying "welcome to (town name); where drunken teens come to die! population whatever"

You know, I walked into a cafe the other day, and these two seedy looking gangster types with guns in their pants told me to get on the floor. Then they walked out with a briefcase.

You know the name of the Cafe? Tarantino's. What? No really, what? Huh? WHAT?

You are so dead.

The only reason you are alive now is because THEY let you leave so you could tell others about it and have them go check it out. If you set foot in that town again I think it's safe to say you are a dead man.

was there a crazy old man that told you to get out of the town as fast as you can, but couldnt explain himself and only gave cryptic references to "strange things" happening but you didnt believe him because he smelled like bourbon?

if not then it was just a town, man.
