The Kills are contemporary bohemians who irreverently battle the norm. Trying to, as Jamie Hince aka Hotel says, Create four walls with fucking chaos coming out of them.
From their first album, Keep on Your Mean Side, The Kills instantly became recognised as a force in the future of rock and roll blues. Now that their second album, No Wow, is out now, their music is beginning to be established as a feverous 21st century take on the genre.
Bone scratching sounds open up their latest album...
It seemed terribly ironic thawt one the same night, two clubs, polar opposites, jammed next to each other for what appeared to be, the sake of some wicked experiment....
Just out of curiosity, does anyone edit these? I'm usually pretty relaxed about spelling and grammar errors in interviews, but to misspell both "that" and "on" within the first seven words of an article seems a bit much.

um, it seems to me the norm these days is a revival of the stripped-down rock'n'roll sound, and acts like these guys getting a lot of attention for it... sorry, i am being churlish, but nothing annoys me more than when a band is thought to be terribly subversive or wild, when in fact they are just another band.
[edited to say] P.S. the most infuriating example of this being Slipknot, who are a bunch of fucking pussies.
Man a new album wooooohooo .... cant wait for a tour !!!! they have to stop by Montreal seriously .... I love that band ... cat claw was like my favorite song for months two years agos
I found the first album to be genius, the second to just be a predictable continuation... still good listening, but no real progression from the first.
The live show this time around was a disaster, but that could just have been on the one night I saw them. The sound was horrendous - distorted beyond the point of comprehension. Songs were hardly recognisable beneath the fuzz. I was really disappointed, as the couple of times I saw them touring the first album and before were amongst the best slices of rock'n'roll I've ever witnessed.
i like that they are trying this whole musical purity process... i don't know a part of me will always miss vv as alison from discount though... i loved everything discount did so i was kinda disapointed at the few songs i heard by the kills... i was sorta hoping for the lyrical genius that i came to expect from her. i geuss what i liked most about her lyrics was her ability to conjure up a mental image of the narrative. she was telling little stories i could relate to...those stories i miss.
