If there isnt a word i hate more. It sums up the people who use is pretty well. Not all who use it are necessary bad but for the most part i cant stand it or the people who use it. I always feel like saying, I am not you bro nor would i ever consider it. Grow up, bro.

I worked in a Drug treatment center for a few years after high school dealing with Teens. A lot of the older counselors there were old surfer burn outs. I heard the word "bro" at least a hunderd times a day. I try to avoid anyone who uses it on a regular basis out of principle alone!

i am just saying that people who use that word usually fall into a certain part of society i would rather not interact with. maybe i have interacted with too many frat boys who use it regularly. maybe peole in other parts of the country use it who arent frat boys or bros themselves. Does the rest of the countr have bros or is it just santa cruz?

It's only tolerable since I live 15 minutes from Huntington Beach and don't hear it too often. I've always felt it was too insincere and a verbal poison.

i think as long as you recognize why and how you are using it you should be fine. as long as you are not one of those guys who use it before and after doing a keg stand you are fine.

I rarely say Bro or Braaaaa. But I do tend to say. "Hey there Brother."

It works when I don't know someones name. Hell. I don't like learning peoples names so it works all the damn time... And Pumpkin for the girlys.

Like. "Hey there Pumpkin". Now. I still hate Bro and Bra.

Brother is my fave. Especially followed by the black panther sign.

I'm an ass beating waiting to happen.

i dunno eh. it's kind of sweet. where i come from, it's a term of endearment. "these are my bros", "oh cher cousie bro" etc. i love hearing it in a new zealand accent. aw, sweet as bro!

it is pretty nice that someone would want to call you their bro. it's like implying that they think you're family.

Hahahahhaha, this thread makes me laugh. smile

I don't use the word 'bro' but I do tend to [over]use the word 'dude' a lot and it reminded me that about 3 years ago my best friend and I were backstage at this concert, hanging out with everybody when the drummer started to say 'dude' in every other sentence. Her bandmates (?) go, "Stop fucking saying 'DUDE'! It's fucking annoying!" My best friend and I were like

confused

Hahah, walk away, walk away.......

If I don't know a guy's name I usually call him boy, or sweet pea, If I don't know a girls name, I usually call her girly or sweet pea, Sweet pea is interchangeable so it works. My mama used to call me sweet pea.....

anyway, I used to call girls cookie but then I met someone who referred to their pussy as a cookie and then it changed all that....

Hey guess what? I say the word "bro" all the time, bro. Along with "rad", "gnarly" and lately I've been saying "hainus" They just come out like normal words, I can't help it. It is annoying when some abercrombie lookin dude talks like that, I hate that, it's like they're trying to steal my thunder. I can just pull it off, you know. I have been busted before, people start rippin in, callin you Spicolli and shit.
Sorry bro! But I'm gonna keep saying "bro", and you can just go on hating on me and all my bros.
