I just saw The Motorcycle Diaries so I think I will be picking it up at Borders tomorrow. Great movie, btw.

Aside from that, I'm reading Emotional Branding, a somewhat dated non-fiction book about connecting customers to consumer products and services by making emotional connections. It was published in 2001, so there is a heavy focus on the dot-bombs, but it is still somewhat relevant.

Oh- and if there was a non-fiction book group, I would join. It's pretty much all that I read.

Supertraining, perhaps the definitive book on strength-training methods.

And yes, Dr. Siff spent a lot more time on the contents than on cover art selection.

Bahahahahaha hysterical indeed! I would check ...Decline of Magic out, but modern phrenological science tells me that my childlike girly mind is too soft and chewy to read books written by men. Now, good sir, please excuse me while I check into the Freudian clinic so that my skeezy middle-aged psychiatrist can "relieve" me of my "womanly hysterics" in a controlled and orderly fashion. I can't be late; he always looks so thrilled when I get there and he snaps those rubber gloves on... confused

biggrin

You should definitely read Jeffrey Masson's
A Dark Science, about early psychiatric treatment and pathologization of women. Absolutely unbelievable, yet all true.

It's a fascinating book. I hadn't realized the degree to which I am a natural science ignoramus.

at the moment i'm alternating between Augusten Burrough'sDry" & David Sedari's "Me Talk Pretty One Day" & i'm looking forward to Jen Sylvania's forthcoming novel which is already getting a lot of attention.

any recommendations? i like non-fiction.

I just started a second read-through of "Parliament of Whores" by PJ O'Rourke. He's pretty conservative, but he's clever as hell.

I love "Me Talk Pretty One Day." I have the audiobook in my car, and I must have listened to it a hundred times. Any of Sedaris' other books are well worth your time.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell is proving to be a very interesting book. Id recommend it. Plus its big and heavy, so people will think you're smart when you carry it around.
