yes, here it is...the one we've all been waiting for:

THE SANDLOT...2!!!

everybody who has seen The Sandlot knows what a sweet and delicate creature it was. shiny and comical, with a hooker's heart of gold, it was. now, an angel has descended upon Hollywood and created the sequel to no doubt, further rape our innocent childhood loves and memories. oh well.

on a related note, do you ever notice how it seems that James Earl Jones is really successful and respectable? also notice how he hasn't done anything much in the past 12 years? amazing what a rich and deep voice will do for your celebrity status.

Perhaps people could stop saying ''rape our childhoods'' or anything similar, as it's one of the stupidest fucking things a person can say? Maybe?

Darth Vader can do whatever the fuck he wants. And if that means "make bad movies," then so be it.

That said, yeah... this movie, probably a bad idea. But whatever. I'm more concerned about this Willy Wonka remake nonsense. whatever

See, I'm more concerned over pointless remakes of perfect films.

If they were REMAKING sandlot, I'd be pissed. But a sequel doesn't ruin the orginal and it'll be conversation at least. It could be fucking good, too. Maybe it'll be like a sweet game.

See, I can say that. Unlike most people, my childhood actually was raped. George Lucas built a time machine, went back to the late 80s/early 90s, used a special laser to form the concept of my childhood into a human, and brutally raped it.It happened with special editions and prequels, Ron Howard did it with the Grinch, the X-Treme Ghostbusters gang-banged it, and now the Sandlot. So I can complain about my childhood being raped.

Everyone else is just using an overdone and waaaaaaay to severe phrase.

true enough for that. johnny depp or not, tim burton hasn't made a good movie since ed wood. and the original willy wonka cannot be touched.

So... then someone makes a sequel to a movie, nothing happens, but when a remake is made, every copy of the original is rounded up and tossed onto a giant (and likely ill-smelling) bonfire and devices are attached to our brains that purge the memory of the original from our cerebral cortexes?

I get it now.

I'm saying I can understand a sequel to a movie and can grasp why someone would make one, be it artist, creative or monetary purposes.

I think it's stupid and silly to REMAKE a perfect movie. Like Willy Wonka.

Remaking horrible movies with a good story/idea is okay though. I fully support it.

Wilder was no Roahld Dahl Wonka either.

I'm glad that if they want to make a sequel to the Sandlot, they waited so long to do it. I am beyond the age where it would interest me now. Hell, it could be 10 times better then the original, and I will probably never find out.

But, I also like to save my complaints of movies until I have actually seen them.

Probably so. smile I read the book first. I love Gene Wilder, and I like him very much as Wonka, but the first movie has large chunks that drag on and bore me. So I hope I like the new version better. I am much more interested in seeing the new Wonka then the Sandlot sequel.

And neither is Depp, which is my problem with that movie. If he's concerned about staying closer to the book, why not cast Christopher Lloyd or something?
