Soooo . . . does that go for alcohol and such? Sure, there's more choice involved with alcohol and illegal drugs because they aren't prescribed, but something about this line of reasoning really bothers me.

You DO have a choice on what anti depression pill to take. If Zoloft made him have thoughts and desires about killing someone, he should have told his Dr. he wanted to try something else. Just b/c your Dr. prescribes you a certain drug it doesn't mean it's the right drug. I've gone thru alot of different anti depressants until I found the right one. And no Dr. will tell you "I'm not going to prescribe you something else, I think this pill is working well for you", and if they do, it's time to find a new Dr. That boy has no excuse.
