Thortons, a British chocolatier, was forced to remake over �30,000 worth of promotional material because a survey of their customers yielded an interesting statistic: only four percent of the women they surveyed found the naked male form sexually attractive. A mostly nude male was going to be used in a campaign for Thortons, but has been slightly altered to include a fig leaf over his johnson.

The proposed image, of a naked male model cropped just above the tideline, has now been hastily altered to include a foil fig leaf.

The last-minute change came at the height of a marketing campaign intended to re-invigorate a line of bonbons called "Eden". The campaign included the poster photographs, to be used in 600 Thorntons shops, the redesign of the packet to look like an Agent Provocateur knicker box, and a telephone survey of 1,024 adults about attitudes to sex and chocolate.

Even men, the survey discovered, prefer to see their loved ones somewhat covered up. Sixty-six per cent of men thought "partially clothed" was as attractive as a woman gets - six times as many as were turned on by full nudity. [�]

Only marginally more women - 46 per cent, as opposed to 42 per cent - preferred the partially- clothed to the fully-clothed male form, and practically none thought naked was best.

Makes me think of my experience tonight viewing Reagan's new set of photographs posted here for us.
