The only rule is: It must be released on disk. No CD-Rom games, they aren't old school enough! My vote goes to X-Com: UFO Defense, although Scorched Earth definitely comes in second with Wolfenstein running up third.

King's Quest II..I think I still have it on a 3.5 inch disk here somewhere.. I loved what would you happen if you tried typing nasty things, like "kill grandma."

Oh, and did anyone ever have Calixto Island?

I had a TI-994A growing up and I loved it! My father used to sell them though, so I had all the goodies with it - the digital canvas, speech synthesiser, some weird expansion package that let you use better joysticks and it had a tablet that worked with some games for added features... I loved that bastard, but the keyboard had the slot for game cartriges and everything else built into it and inevitably, one of the keys would go bad on it. I used to write BASIC programs with it, so not having an A, E, or R made it pretty damned tough. I probably still have enough pieces to build one in my garage - maybe I'll go look later...

Hunt The Wumpus ruled, as did Parsec and Miner 2049er.
