Are the constant commercials that pop up around 2 a.m. for "Worship Music" or "Songs of Power." I usually change the channel to avoid these commercials and the worst is when you change and are greeted by yet another of the same kind. puke

I only have SG until the boards really start shutting down -- or my ass starts hurting from sitting in front of the computer. Then I go lay on the couch for awhile and read or watch tv, hoping the boards will freshen up a tad.

My post count and my insomnia have a hell of a lot to do with each other.

When the boards start shutting down is when I post all the embarrassing things that I feel compelled to express but hope no one will notice.

Like this one right here.

I never see any worship/prayer whatever commercials, but I see phone sex commercials sometimes. And they're always on USA. Always.

I hardly watch TV though. I suppose it doesn't matter which screen you let your mind rot in front of, however, the computer screen or the TV one.

insomnia sucks. big time. my record was three months. not counting those little 15 minute intervals once in a while where you wouldnt so much fall asleep as your brain would turn on a screen saver. you were still awake, you just werent there.

and trying to get drunk and pass out doesnt work either.

I agree with Reading a book, or even playing a videogame. Television is a waste of one's time, and brain.
By the way, is insomnia contagious, cos my lazy ass could really use it.

Television is no more a waste of one's brain than videogames! Especially if you watch things like the History network or Discovery... I use those when I can't sleep.

I used to read the Bible when I was an insomniac. It generally helped out a bit.

(in the getting me to fall asleep sense, I mean...)

Fundamentally untrue. I have learned TONS of things in my life that I saw on TV. I've become interested in things that have turned into major passions in my life because of TV (ok yes, I'm talking about masturbating to Alyssa Milano but that's not the point) I am a better conversationalist because of television. I know what "powdercoating" is because of television. I think, to make a blanket statement like "TV is a waste of one's time and brain" is an oversimplfication.
