I never watched a single episode of that tv programme, and I never had any of the toys. Does this make me a big loser, or does it make me cool?

I think I'd prefer it if you all said "cool", thanks.

Never seen Transformers!? Sweet Jebus man! I must have seen every episode at some point, plus I own the movie. I wouldn't say not seeing it makes you a loser, but it certainly might put you in an awkward position if you were to bump into one of them at a bar or something.

I would call you a loser if you didn't have Transformer toys when you were a lad The cartoon wasn't that great. Robotech was better. TheTransformers movie, though, that was fantastic.

When my little brother was born, I remember overhearing a conversation between my parents where they worried that a new baby would make me feel insecure or abandoned. Apparently my little 4-year-old brain's diabolical parts were fully developed and I remember telling my mother a few days later at the store that I'd been feeling like they didn't care about me and that some new Transformer toys would go a long way towards making me feel loved again.

As long as your didn't play with Go-Bots, you're safe in the "cool" department wink

It was good stuff, and if you like 80's cartoons, you should give it a shot. But unless you are trying to impress someone who only has sex with people who can name all the Autobots, I don't think you should worry about your image. robot

I'm sorry dude, but I'll have to go loser too. Come one, Robots in disguise! What could be better??? I even own the movie with the horrible yet awsome sound track.

"Autobots, Roll out!"

If I wake up feeling bad, I always try to start my day with a little Stan Bush. The powerchords are so uplifting.

But yeah, I vote not a loser because it's you. But maybe you should watch the movie. smile

Watching the movie with no background on the old characters might be confusing, though, since you wouldn't care as much when all the old favorites get shot up.

I would say watch the movie after a friend has held up most of the toys and told you their name and a short bit about them. The actual cartoons just doen't hold up to well into adulthood. They are funny and nostalgic, but that is about the most of it. Very bad writing.

I'm also trying to find something that makes the young 'uns feel as weird as I do when I hear them say they were born after, for example, Star Wars was made.

"Wait, what? You never saw ET when it came out in the cinema??"
"No way old dude, I wasn't even born then."

I own the movie on VHS and DVD. I also own the soundtrack on CD. If I could find it on LP I'd pay any amount in a heartbeat to own it.

The only sticker I have on my laptop is a Decepticon sticker that I searched and searched for to find one that matched the finish of the laptop.

So yeah. I'm gonna have to go with "loser".

It's usually video game stuff that does it for me. Kids who thought the 64 was the first nintendo or my brothers neice who had no idea who q*bert was. I bought the Street fighter 15th anniversary game and some kid had never heard of it.

Did you see that they re-released the older Transformer toys? I saw them at Toys R Us over the summer. Maybe now is your chance to buy one and be cool. smile

Brace yourself...

..."live action".

(wiping pant leg with kleenex)

Actually, I think I'll have to see a trailer. This is one of those things that could go VERY bad very quick. We shall see.
