So here goes... I'm a smart, funny broad who's intelligent, independent, very artistic and a hell of a lot of fun to hang out with. And yet... *gasp* I've never had a Valentine. Yeah, I know it's a BS holiday made up by greeting card manufacturers and chocolatiers... but still, just once I'd like to have one.

Anybody else never had a valentine? Or feel guilty for wanting to have one this year? I fear I may be going bonkers for actually wanting this foolish romance stuff in my life.

believe it, kids! I've never once celebrated V-day.

I'm not looking for the"awww.... you poor thing" comments. Just wondering if there are some people who despite going around saying, "fuck V-day!" still have that little voice that says, hmmm... maybe it would be nice to have somebody special even if it is a made up bogus holiday.

I never have a girlfriend on valentine's day that I can recall. At least not since I was like fifteen.

One time, me and my girl broke up the day before Valentine's day, and got back together like 3 days after. That is how cursed this holiday is for me.

Ok, I HAVE had a boyfriend before. Thankfully, I have known the touch of a man in my lifetime. tongue It's not like I'm a loveless hermit.

I just have never been smitten or had someone smitten with me on 2/14. And I know logically that it shouldn't be that big a deal. but it's a little deal.

I don't recall ever having one, but when I consider the number of boyfriends I've had it's clearly impossible for that to be true. Therefore, I conclude that I don't care about Februay 14th. Not enough to remember it, anyway.

Oh. I just remembered my ex husband buying me an Avail CD for Valentine's Day even though he knew I hated them because he loved them and wanted to convince me I was wrong to disagree. That was a totally awesome relationship.

My ex-boyfriend and I did not celebrate because at the time we thought it was a stupid holiday. He did however convince me to go halves with him on a really expensive floral arrangement for my then roommate because she had no boyfriend. At the time I thought it was a sweet idea. Then I found out they were fucking behind my back.

Maybe it is a stupid holiday.

Hotcurry, you have described me perfectly. What is it about being a "smart, funny broad who's intelligent, independent, very artistic and a hell of a lot of fun to hang out with" that prevents me from having a valentine? Wait.... I've never even had a real boyfriend to speak of. Guys, do girls like us intimidate you? Or do I maybe have a third eye growing out of my forehead that I don't know about... confused

As a stranger I find that completely hilarious in a zany film sort of way. I hope it's been long enough for you to see the humor in such a ridiculous situation so we can share a chuckle right now.

This is the very first Valentine's Day that I've gotten something from someone other than my father. Not that my daddy's not an awesome valentine, but it's nice to get a big present from someone else for once.
