OHHOHOHO! I'd forgotten about that detail, vitally important as it is-obviously, this movie WILL suck total balls. blackeyed I'm glad I have someone on my side. heh.

Does anyone else remember the trailers for Galaxy Quest? I REFUSED to see it, and when I finally did....brilliance. Best scifi comedy in years, and the only good Star Trek movie since the original cast. I think we have another case of that here-the trailer just doesnt do much, buuuuuuut.....

I always kinda envisioned the Vogons as resembling the pig guards from Return of the Jedi...

The did hang in the sky much in the same way bricks don't. I don't care what anyone else says, I liked the trailer and I'm willing to accept the changes because 1) I knew they would never make a completly faithful movie 2) Most of the changes were maed by douglas adams himself 3) I really want to like this movie.

1) yep, it's impossible.

2) Damn right. I REALLY hate people bitching about Zaphod's head being a cost cutting measure-there's FAR more evidence that it is NOT a cost cutting measure. Surely, it can never be known for absolute fact either way, but people who believe it to be cost cutting simply cant back up their claim.

3) Yes....and I want everyone else to like it, too, so the rest will get made...

I suspect a lot of the people bitching about changes might not have read the salmon of doubt.

It's not that I think that books should never become movies... it's just... um...

I wonder if I can hide underground or something until the movie has come and gone. Because odds are, I won't be able to resist going to see it, and odds are (quite good) that it's going to really, really piss me off.

Prime example of why many adaptations take liberties-HUGE liberties, even, with popular licenses:

You, the fan, will be pissed off anyway, whether they change one thing or a thousand; or when it doesn't match YOUR interpretation.

You, the fan, will go see it anyway, putting money in their pocket. Lots of people will buy the DVD anyway as well-I'm guilty of it:I hated Daredevil, but I own both versions of it because A)I'm a comic whore and B)I love extra features, even on crappy movies (see the copy of Independance Day on my shelf?)

It's a sad but true fact-it's really senseless to worry about what the fans think when you're Hollywood.

Okay, I can understand not liking the slapstick, (although, come on, it's a trailer, They're going to put the most accessible jokes in there.) and the hatred of the heads, (althoug Douglas Adams never liked the way the heads were before, so he came up with this.) but why pick on the pronunciation of Zaphod? Are you that nitpicky?
