Did any one have senior wills? I willed the funniest shit!
My friend Kristen willed me her ability to piss off authority for no apparent reason. I actually seemed to use that very well.
That is funny!
I willed a bunch of stuff, but one of my favorites was when I willed this one guy "a ruler so that he can find out how big eight inches really is" (and yes my school actually printed it!).
I had two. "If you should die before me, ask if you can bring a friend." (uplifting, I know.) And "Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night."
My quote in the literary magazine (cuz I was one of the editors) was "People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use."
And I was voted Most Dramatic. I was second for Biggest Flirt and Best Eyes.
"This isn't my planet, I didn't choose to be here, I don't want to get involved, just get me out of here and get me to a party with people I can relate to." - Douglas Adams
i didn't have a senior quote, but i did have a funny story. only thing, it never happened. but i didn't make it up, the year book group did. i read the story and then had to ask my mother if it happened. neither of us remember it.
it was funny and a good story, and probably happened to someone else, just
not me.
I cringe every time I re-read mine, but perhaps the catharsis of posting it here will help:
(our school called them "Ambitions")
"To grow my hair so I look like a prophet, and to have my disciples come seek my wisdom at my chalet in Sweden
To re-live all the unreal times of the Summer of '87 (this was before the term 420 was coined), and give the TargetMobile to Dominic, since he loves it so.
Then, I'll figure out why I get obsessed with sophomores. And, I'll never think I'm New Wave Dave again, or anyone else for that matter.
See you at the reunion, I'll be the one with the hair!"
Full of the inside wink-wink, nudge-nudge high school hijinkery.
For added amusement, those that know me here @ SG have probably seen this, but this is my actual senior picture:
i didn't go to class often enough for people to remember me. when i did attend, i'd skip and hide out in the darkroom making prints.
i wasn't in the grad composite, either. i just loved my highschool experience that much.
In my sophomore yearbook there is a picture of me in a girls wig wearing my buddy's football jersery and i was helping the sophomore guys beat the senior guys in tug-o-war. Its a great picture, cuz my friend had never had a girlfriend, and usually during homecoming the player's gave their jersey to their girlfriends, nobody wanted his jersey, I got a lot of laughs for that, but it helped the dull-ass pep rally go by faster for everybody.
Edited to say by the time I got in high school, our school didnt allow "best hair" or "most likely to succeed" they said it was unfair to other students who didn't get voted for anything.
my quote was "i cant control, my destiny, i trust my soul, my ony goal, is just to be... no other path, no other way, no day but today" by Jonathan larson, from RENT
yes, i was obsessed with rent in high school... still am, tho not as much..
