Tony Jaa is being touted as the next Jackie Chain or Bruce Lee by both the press and the movie company that is releasing his first movie, Ong-bak. It’s no fucking exaggeration! In fact with Bruce Lee dead and Jackie Chan hitting 50 this year, Jaa is the rightful inheritor to that crown. The moves he creates in Ong-bak are like nothing ever seen before on film. You will be in awe then wince as he sails both of his knees into an assailant’s head.

Ong-bak takes place in Jaa’s homeland of Thailand...

Ive seen the film, and as a martial art film buff , I can safely say that yes it is an awesome film. The fight scenes look fantastic! Unfortunately I watched the Bali release of the film with it's dodgy English translation (although quite humorous at times), hopefully the cinema release will be much better.

Im not really a big martial arts movie fan, so I wouldnt really care much about the movie. I like more thrillers or suspense movies because its scarey and u dont know whats going to happen next.

This movie gets two big thumbs up, I kinda of refreshing to see an original movie that had the action that I'm sure a lot of crave for (I have never seen so many people go AWWW! or OH SHIT! period.) and it also painted a good picture of the struggle for namy Thai people, I dont thing there was any Western Influence like the bad guys driving new BMW's or the her drinking a coke. The biggest relief is that hollywood got the clue and they stopped dubbing movies and just let it run I dont mind hearing Thai it meant that it was untainted by bad voice-over's Thai Americans could say "this is my movie, he is one of us" this movie blew my mind... the taxi chase and the boss with the voice box was hysterical too.

I have the Thai DVD, so I want to see the US release. The DVD gets a bit tedious at the end, but it is true that this guy is amazing.

yeah, i saw it a couple weeks ago with a buddy who hasit on dvd. it's fucking incredible. i can only hope that it comes ot my town, but i'm affraid with editing and redubbing and dumbing down for american audiences, it may lose just a tiny bit in the translation.

all the same, an amazing film, a great interview, and the crime boss speaking thai through the trach vibrator is funny as hell.

yeah i know wtf is up with that "i like to walk on my hands to go to the bathroom"?

whatevs; excellent interview, daniel. he seems reasonably intelligent for a martial arts movie actor. this isn't normally my thing, but based on this interview (and of course the personal "thumbs up" from THE RZA), i'm gonna check this out.

Yeah, Tony Jaa is incredible. Onk-Bak and Tom Yum Goong are some of my favorite martial art films...yeah if you guys like this film, check out Tom Yum Goong aka Protector. I won't reveal anything for people who haven't seen it yet, but I will say it has the most brutal arm/leg breaks I have ever seen!!!! Everyone is going to freak out watching this smile

SO much better than Bruce Lee in every single way! Doesnt have the humor aspect of Jakie Chan but thats not such a loss when your staring at the screen like this eeek
Would be great to see them in a film together, more than Chan cameo in Warrior King that is.
