Amen...taking a dump in a shoe-box and calling it "art" doesn't make it art. What's next...a picture of your sweetheart in a brandy snifter?

"You can also get a picture of a brandy snifter... in a brandy snifter."

Two points for getting the reference!

Quentin Tarantino... the actor, not the director.

I'd only want to be killed by art if it was art that I enjoyed and the death was interesting. For instance, I'd rather my obituary say:

"Man hacked to pieces by Francis Bacon canvas in freak cyclone"

than

"Man dies of lead poisoning from prolonged exposure to Robert Rauschenberg installation art."

why not "blurry nude man dies after falling down staircase"?

Lovely....they're putting hundreds of extra NYPD officers on duty to guard this thing. That's overtime well-spent. Bloomberg better never cry about budgeting when it comes to the police department.

I have to say that while I don't necessarily love every installation he has done, I do admire the artist who thinks so big. This guy thinks waaaaaay out of the box, and takes on things of monsterous proportions, and is not deterred by the difficulties that may lay in his path. Some of the pieces may be gaudy, or get in your way, but I believe that's one of the many points of the work. It is supposed to interrupt your vision, make you think about the landscape in a new way, and blah blah blah.

I certainly do not have the vision or the energy to do this....
