Now I know there is probably some Group I should be directing this question to0 but you seem like good people;

What is the first guitar song you learned?

"Happy Birthday" or "Mary and her Lamb" any one those lame songs don't count, I want the one that you were first pround to play in front of others.

I want to learn a song, getting bored of chords and the other musical terms

I play bass guitar and the first song I ever learned was "Hey Joe". It is a Hendrix song and my guitar teacher insisted that I learn it.

It might have been "House of the Rising Sun" too, for me.

I do know I figured out the "Rebel Rebel" riff and was very pleased with myself.

Can't remember offhand, but I think it was either 'Mother' or 'Goodbye Blue Sky', both by Pink Floyd.

Bombtrack on bass by Rage Against The Machine. The first song on guitar I learnt was Somebody's Cryin' by Chris Isaak... and that damned F major chord pissed me off for weeks.

Besides all the "lame songs" I first learned, the first real song was a Green Day song, but I don't remember which one. The Green Day songs I have learned have mostly been pretty easy and sounded kinda cool.

"House of the Rising Sun" was the first thing I learned how to play absolutely correctly (i.e., arpeggiating the proper voicings with the right nuance), but I was butchering tons of stuff for years before that. smile

Anyone else still have their Mel Bay, "This is the pick" book - that very first guitar primer that has been a classic for, what: 50+ years?
